Assigning Data Types to Individual Columns

You can override the default data type assignment by assigning data types to individual SQL Server columns.

Select an Access Table from the combo-box to display the data type settings for the current column.

The SQL Server data type override is displayed in the SQL Server Data Type column. When blank, the data type default setting is used.

SQL Server Data Type Combo-box

Click the combo-box arrow to display the data type choices for the current column. Choose and entry from the list to override the default data type setting.

For Auto-Number columns, a pop-up form is displayed after selecting a combo-box entry, where additional SQL Server Identity information may be supplied.

To reinstate the default data type for a given column, clear its contents.
