Tables Page

On entry to Scriptoria, a list of the MS-Access tables for the current database is displayed.

 

 

Access tables are listed on the left side of the Tables Page and selected tables are shown on the right. By default, all tables are selected when you load Scriptoria the first time for a given Access database.

 

Use the multiple-selection list-box and arrow buttons to select and de-select table entries.  Be sure to check that your desired options are in effect.

 

Press the Convert  button to start the conversion process. The Status Page is displayed.

New and Deleted Access Tables

Newly created Access tables (and queries) are detected by Scriptoria and automatically added to the "Selected" list-box. Deleted tables (and queries) are automatically removed from the list-boxes. When an SQL Server table (or view  or procedure) that corresponds with a deleted table (or query) is found, the SQL Server object is dropped after prompting the user for approval.

Access Linked Data Sources

Microsoft Access provides a powerful linkage facility that enables the seamless integration of disparate data-stores into an Access database. Built-in drivers (similar to ODBC) are provided for most versions of dBase, FoxPro, Excel, HTML (tables or lists) and Text files (delimited or fixed-width). Drivers for Lotus 1-2-3, Paradox and Microsoft Exchange / Outlook are available through Office 97 ValuPack.  In addition, any data-store equipped with an ODBC driver (e.g., SQL Server, Clipper, Lotus Notes) can also be linked to Access.

 

Scriptoria provides complete support for this linkage facility enabling the creation of homogeneous SQL Server databases from heterogeneous data stores throughout the enterprise.
