When creating DB2 table columns, equivalent DB2 data types are substituted for Access types. You can specify global defaults for each type, and optionally assign different types for individual table columns. Global types are substituted whenever a column has not been individually assigned a data type.
The Access Data Types and their DB2 Equivalents figure shows one or more valid DB2 equivalent types for each corresponding Access type. The suggested defaults may be changed to suit the needs of your database.
