DB2 Database Options
Use existing database:
DB Name: This combo box contains a list
of cataloged DB2 databases. Actually, the database alias is shown. If you wish to use a DB2 database
not shown in this list, use the DB2 Client Configuration Assistant
to locate and catalog it first.
The
last database selected is saved and becomes the default entry the next
time you load Scriptoria for the current Access database.
Create new database:
The Create new database function
creates a new database on the current DB2 node. If you need to use a DB2
database located on a different node in a multi-node environment, you
will need to manually create the database, use the DB2 Client Configuration
Assistant to catalog it. You can then employ the Use
existing database option. (Note that the Create new database
option is only available when you first load Scriptoria).
DB
Name: Enter a unique database name that begins with a letter and contains
eight or fewer characters.
Drive:
Selected a drive from the list or use the DB2 default drive setting. The new database will be created
on this drive and will automatically increase in size as data is added.
Description:
You may
optionally enter a description for the new database.
Press the OK
button to connect to the
selected DB2 database (or to create a new database.)
Notes:
1.
ODBC data sources are automatically registered and optimized for MS-Access
by Scriptoria.
2.
When a DB2 / Windows database is selected,
Scriptoria checks to see if the User Defined Function extensions have been installed.
