DB2 Table Rebuild Required
User Input and/or Acknowledgement Forms
In
Prototyping
Mode, Scriptoria may encounter design changes that require that the
DB2 table be rebuilt, meaning that a new table definition is created and
existing data copied to the new table when possible. When this occurs,
the user is shown one or more forms that detail the changes made and their
possible effects on existing data.
The
Current Access Vs. Existing DB2 Table Definition form is displayed
when columns exist in the DB2 table that cannot be matched with fields
in the corresponding Access table. This can happen when a field in the
Access table has been deleted or renamed.
Since we did remove the ID field to illustrate how deleted fields
are acknowledged, we can just press the OK button to remove the associated
column fr
om the DB2 table.
We can always add it back later.
